Description
Iconic Model 3130 Grand Prix chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, these beech with the chromed plated steel leg versions produced 1974.
Model 3130 was introduced by Fritz Hansen in 1957 at the Designers' spring exhibition (Kunsthaandværkernes Foraarsudstilling). Later that year, the chair was awarded the 'Grand Prix' at the Triennale in Milan. The chair has 'adopted' the name of the award and always retained. The original design (like this version) has wooden legs. Later on, the chair is also produced with chromed metal legs as featured here.
