A copper Jo Hammerborg classic Saturn pendant for Fog & Mørup Denmark.
The classic Saturn was one of Jo Hammerborg's first designs when he took over as director of design at Fog & Mørup at the end of the 1950s and began the process of transforming the company's product lines, bringing in a new modernist aesthetic in line with his previous work as a silversmith at Georg Jensen.
The Saturn design concept was a structure of two concentric cylindrical bands, and Hammerborg explored the art of balance and proportion through this form during his two decades of design work at Fog & Morup in many variations of height and width, to the extent that it became one of his signature themes and his most easily recognised and most widely imitated design concept.
Fully working, rewired, safety tested & passed - E27 / E26 Edison screw fitting.

Condition: There are some faint marks and odd flecks of paint on the black outer ring, some overall age related discolouring but all in all very nice vintage condition.
