An adjustable "Panama" wall lamp designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen, Netherlands, 1950s.
Description
A very iconic "Panama" wall lamp which was designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen in the 1950s, Netherlands.
With a black bracket, red shade and a long grey arm which is adjustable and still having the original diffuser which is rare the wall lamp omits a nice level of light and is an impactful addition to many settings.
There is a decorative red key that is attached to the fixing bracket that can be removed and used to adjust the lamps position.
Wim Rietveld (1924-1985) was the youngest son of architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld and is considered to be one of the pioneers of Dutch Industrial design.
