A Mario Bellini 'Le Mura' daybed, designed in 1972 for Cassina
Description
A daybed from the hard to find 'Le Mura' series by Mario Bellini for Cassina, 1972.
The Le Mura series was only produced for a short period so rare, a daybed from this range even rarer.
The design is inspired by the large stones that were used to build walls, buildings and roads in ancient Rome and this is reflected in the appearance and also the name 'Le Mura' which translated is 'The Walls'.
The daybed is made up of the base and a standard mattress sits on top of the base and is covered by the matching velvet cover.
In very good condition for age, no stains or tears, however, there are some areas of pile imperfection on the mattress cover illustrated in the photos. Whilst in good condition the mattress is, of course, old so we would suggest renewing with a fresh mattress per your preference, however, we can ship the existing if you wish. We offer a full upholstery service if you choose and we are happy to discuss, if you prefer to retain the original fabric we will have this professionally cleaned before dispatch.
