An Actual chair, Actual Edition, 1972, by Étienne Fermigier (attr).
An important figure in French design who was unfortunately killed in a car accident at only 41. Before his untimely death, he had opened his own studio in 1957, working both on interior design and industrial design & when he was 35 he received the 1967 Prix Gabriel, award in recognition of his body of design work for mass production.
The chair has a minimal profile and attractive curved aesthetic which sits on rubber ball feet, the piece has been professionally reupholstered in an ivory-coloured dense pile cotton velour by Kvadrat/Sahco. The original foam has been entirely replaced so the piece is in very good condition. Being a cotton velour do expect slight, minor bruising in places.
